2017 Hastings District Council councillor by-election

There are seven candidates in this month's by-election for councillor, and, other than my personal contact with some via my work, I don't know much about any of them.

So I've read Hawke's Bay Today avidly, and have gone searching online to discover who I think should be our next representative on council. Voting for a councillor is way too important a job to decide on the basis of a smiley billboard, simple name recognition or something a mate said once (I think).
